Am I a good candidate for this treatment?

The best candidates for this procedure are people with mild-to-moderate skin wrinkling concerns.

You shouldn’t receive this therapy if you:

  • are breastfeeding
  • are pregnant
  • have an allergy to topical anesthetic preparations
  • have an infection at the treatment site
  • are using isotretinoin for wrinkles or acne
  • In addition, if you have a history of keloids or hypertrophic scarring, it’s recommended that you approach this therapy with caution.

Can this treatment be done on darker skin?

This treatment is not advised for those with very dark skin due to the higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) following treatment.

How long does each treatment take?

The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes to perform.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

Results can be seen after just one treatment! Depending on the condition you are trying to treat it may take 2-3 treatments to achieve your desired results.

How often/far apart should the sessions be?

Treatments may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated, generally 6-8 weeks.

Will it be painful?

Little to no pain or minimal discomfort is reported by patients. Topical cream is applied to numb treated area prior to procedure.

How long will the results last and are they permanent?

Results can be expected to last 3 years or more.

Is there any downtime required?

The healing process depends on your health and skin health, but most people’s skin irritation subsides in 5-10 days. We will determine the perfect preparation and after care regimen for your needs during your consultation.

Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

You can carry on with your day as normal, however it is very important to follow our after care recommendations. Carbon crusts CANNOT be scratched or removed. Drying skin by dabbing with a clean, lint-free cloth is allowed. Healing skin should be protected from direct sun with SPF50 cream. Sports, swimming and sauna are not permitted until crusts fall off. This should happen within 7 days of procedure.
